Our company has grown to 25 people, 11 of which are on the engineering team. In order to keep growing, we’re looking to hire a VP of engineering. In this role, you will report to the CTO. Your primary responsibilities will be to lead and motivate a team of smart, product-focused engineers.
You should be eager to get (and capable of getting) deep into the code. You will work with the team to set high standards while optimizing workflow. Your approach to resolving technical debates should emphasize education and consensus building. You should be comfortable having individual contributors as well as managers as direct reports. Correspondingly, you will be responsible for mentoring the development of both technical and management skills.
