Vuvuzela is a private chat system that protects metadata.

Using Vuvuzela, adversaries will not be able to see who you chat with, when you are chatting, or even if you are chatting at all!

To hide metadata, messages are routed through multiple servers, and each server adds noise. This makes the metadata incomprehensible, even to powerful nation-state adversaries.

Vuvuzela is being developed at MIT CSAIL. We'll notify you when it's ready to use:

In the meantime, follow our development on Github.

Alpenhorn, our new system for bootstrapping private communication, was presented at OSDI 2016.
